As my first post, I'll show off a bit of my life drawings (also known as croquis - if you want to sound fancy about it). If you ever attend a life drawing class, you'll be challenged to draw live model in front of you, usually in 30 seconds, or 1, 2, or 5 minute intervals, drawing the human figure as fast as you can. It's daunting at first, but often jumping into the deep end is what helps you develop the skills in seeing the impression and movement of your subject.

The very fast turnaround helps to highlight areas that you can improve on in seeing proportions, because there's no time to go back and adjust them. Sometimes, there's opportunities to do long-form life drawing, taking 30 minutes to draw the model.

Life drawing helps to train your eye in capturing the silhouette of your subject, and become flexible in drawing subjects that might move over time - it's natural!
